What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website asks your browser to store. Local storage works in a similar way but lives in your browser's storage area rather than travelling to a server with every request. Both are stored on your device and controlled by you.
How PixToolbox uses storage
PixToolbox itself is designed to work without cookies. The only value we store is a record of your advertising
choice so we do not ask you again on your next visit. This is saved in your browser's local storage as
pixtoolbox_ads_consent and contains no personal data and no tracking identifiers.
The images you compress are never stored in cookies or local storage — they only exist in your browser's memory while the page is open.
Advertising cookies
When you choose to accept personalised or standard Google ads in the consent banner, Google AdSense and its partners may set advertising cookies. These can record information such as which sites you have visited and help serve more relevant ads. Google's use of this data is covered by Google's "How Google uses data" page.
Advertising cookies are only installed after you accept. If you decline, no advertising scripts load and no advertising cookies are set; all PixToolbox tools keep working exactly the same.
Managing and deleting
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by clearing your browser's site storage, by clearing cookies in your browser settings, or by visiting Google's Ads Settings to opt out of personalised ads. Most browsers let you block cookies entirely; blocking them never affects the image compressor, because it does not need cookies to work.
