Frequently asked questions

How are the palette colors chosen?

The extractor counts every distinct shade in the image, then merges similar colors together and ranks the groups by how much of the image they cover. You can request anywhere from 2 to 12 colors.

Will photos give better palettes than logos?

Both work. Flat illustrations and logos produce very precise palettes, while photos tend to blend into softer, blended color groups — which is usually what design work needs anyway.

What formats can I export?

You can copy any hex with a click, or download the whole palette as a plain .txt list, a .css file with CSS custom properties, or a .json array.

Are the files sent to a server?

No. The image is analyzed locally in your browser and never uploaded, so private photos and screenshots stay on your device.
